GIGABYTE adds a 64GB AI TOP ATOM, with availability planned for October 23

The OEM configuration adds a purchasing option. Canadian pricing and channel availability still need confirmation.

GIGABYTE announced a 64GB unified-memory version of AI TOP ATOM on October 2, 2026, alongside its existing 128GB option. The release states availability will begin October 23 and says sales channels, pricing and availability vary by region. The system is based on NVIDIA’s DGX Spark platform.

This is an OEM product and purchasing update, distinct from the earlier NVIDIA platform announcement. Canadian developers should confirm the actual local configuration, delivery timing and support terms before treating the announced date as an in-stock Canadian offer. AI Speed has not benchmarked this system or verified a Canadian retail price.

Choose capacity around a real working set

GIGABYTE positions AI TOP ATOM for on-premises model inference, prototyping and data work. Unified memory is an important product specification, but a capacity number is not a guarantee that a particular model, context length and workload will fit together or meet the desired response time.

Before buying, write down the model version, numerical precision, expected context and number of simultaneous requests. Include memory used by supporting software and data processing. A single successful prompt is a weak capacity test if the intended application keeps several sessions active or builds larger inputs during ordinary use.

Local compute has operational costs

A machine in the office gives a team direct responsibility for updates, access control, backups and recovery. Budget staff time as well as hardware. Document which parts of a workflow run on the device and which still call external services, because a local inference step does not automatically make every application dependency local.

Compare a reproducible task with your current setup before assuming the new configuration saves money. Count completed, checked results and include setup effort. If a trial uses a smaller model or shorter context than production, keep that difference explicit; otherwise the cost comparison can look favourable for the wrong reason.

Ask the Canadian channel precise questions

Request the exact memory and storage configuration, warranty coverage, repair route and return terms. Confirm whether software demonstrations are included products or examples requiring additional setup. If the supplier offers a performance estimate, ask for its workload and settings rather than applying it to an unrelated model.

The new 64GB option could give some buyers a more appropriate starting configuration, but our analysis is that the fit must be established before choosing the smaller capacity. October 23 is the manufacturer’s stated availability milestone. Reliable local supply and useful performance are separate facts that prospective Canadian buyers should verify.
